Who is this service suitable for?
If you’re between your first period (menarche) and 49 years of age (or 54 for progesterone only) we can help you with your contraception. You’ll need to provide your blood pressure reading if you are taking, or wish to start taking the combined pill.
Can I get other forms of contraception, such as coil, implant or injection using this service?
Unfortunately no. The NHS contraception service is for oral contraceptive pills only. This includes the combined pill or progesterone only pill. You’ll need to contact your GP or sexual health clinic if you wish to use another form of contraception, such as coils, implants, patches, injections or rings.
Can I get emergency contraception through this service?
Unfortunately no. This service is not for emergency contraception (morning after pill) at this time. However, our clinicians may be able to help via our private clinic. Click Here to find out more.
Will my pill stay the same?
Yes. If you’re hoping to continue on the same contraception, we’ll make sure to give you the same type of pill. The packaging might look different depending on the brand, but the medicine itself will remain the same. You can discuss this, or alternative options with our pharmacist during your appointment.
What if I want to change my contraception pill?
You can book an appointment and speak to our pharmacist any time if you wish to change your contraception pill. But, if you want to try a different form of contraception (e.g. implant, coil, patch), you’d need to discuss with your GP or sexual health clinic.
How much does the service cost?
This is a completely free service and you won’t have to pay for your appointment, medication or delivery.
